Let this
blog find you expressing yourself fully and making lively, meaningful &
contributing conversations.
We are
often asked this question in our workshops & mentoring: ‘How to communicate
effectively? How to be truly interesting?’
Here is one
of my favourite quotes:
The truth isn't the truth until people believe you, and they can't
believe you if they don't know what you're saying, and they can't know what
you're saying if they don't listen to you, and they won't listen to you if
you're not interesting, and you won't be interesting unless you say things
imaginatively, originally, freshly.
William Bernbach
Here is one
story.
------------
There was a
Zen master who kept talking in stories whole day to his disciples. Only at the
end, the insights of the stories showed up.
One
disciple asked, “Master, why do you spend whole day in telling stories and only
tell the learnings in the end. Why not tell the insight itself at the start
& save time?”
Master
said, “I will answer you, but first get me some water.”
The
disciple brought a bowl of water.
Master
asked, “Why did you bring a bowl?? I only asked for water!!”
------------
Stories are
the bowl in which insights are served!
We suggest
to people to speak in a way that it becomes very vivid to the listener &
he/she gets transported to that situation. You may want to include a new level
of life, storytelling, vividness & crispness in your communication &
experience the difference.
Warm
regards,
